Jenny Parks is an illustrator who has taken her personal obstacles and turned them into a book series designed to help others who may be struggling in the same ways she has. Getting her book ready to publish along with starting her new logo company, Rooted, have kept her on track to building the business and life she wants for herself and her art. Her willingness to use her own challenges as a way to channel her art and offer a support system for those in a similar situation has enabled her to stay on the path she knows she wants to pursue and has given her the will power to keep going.

Marcos Santana is a Broadway choreographer, actor and dancer who has performed in and choreographed some of the greatest shows on Broadway, including the original cast of the Tony Award winning In The Heights and currently the Gloria and Emilio Estefan musical On Your Feet. He has built a successful career in what is considered the third hardest career path to follow in the U.S.: choreographer.

Marcos talks about how his passion for what he does combined with a tenacity to "take as many punches as possible" has enabled him to find the success he has and become an outstanding business owner in the process. Michael Raver is an actor and writer who decided from the very beginning of his career that he was going to do what he knew worked for him as an artist: create his own work. He was met with several challenges with producers and influential industry professionals telling him he wasn’t going to find success in this approach. But Michael decided to follow the path he knew was true to his heart.

Torange Yeghiazarian is the founding artistic director of Golden Thread Theater Company, the first American theater company devoted entirely to plays from or about the Middle East. Based in San Francisco, they are celebrating their 20th anniversary. Torange’s artistic life began with her career in acting, but she quickly realized she wasn’t going to be able to work on the kind of stories she was passionate about sharing. Aremenian and from Iran herself, she wanted to reach other women and men in the Middle Eastern community and create a space for their stories to be heard. So she started her own theater company, and never looked back.

What’s so extraordinary about Torange’s story is how she chose a narrow niche to focus on, and when time got tough in her business she simply paired down and focused on that niche even more, which resulted in a huge pay off for her mission and is a testament to the power of staying true to your vision as an artist and taking your business seriously in the process of seeing it through.

Leah Guzman is an artist and art therapist whose body of work is all about connecting the mind, body, and soul through art. Adrian Correia is a cinematographer who has shot films, trailers music videos and promotional work for some of the top brands and has worked with some of the top talent in the film industry including Julianne Moore, Kevin Spacey and Daniel Craig. Jim Culleton is a Dublin-based theatre director and artistic director of the Olivier Award-winning Fishamble: The New Play Company.
