And that began a life-long lesson in perspective for me as an artist that has guided me in going against the grain and making decisions that have helped me to follow fulfilling my vision as an artist despite any odds I’ve been up against.

So normally on Tuesday I would have a guest on the show, usually an artist from my community who I get to talk with and give her and opportunity to share her work and her mission with everyone who listens to this show. These are my absolute favorite interviews because they allow me to get to know the incredible artists in my community one-on-one and give me a chance to help them build their businesses in very specific ways.

But I decided to step away from interview mode altogether today to share with you the one business tip that surpasses any other in terms of building a successful, powerful business: community.
